Charisma: The Magnetic X Factor of Client Attraction.

The intangible quality of charisma consists of a certain charm and attractiveness that is emitted by a person to an individual or to a group of people inspiring a certain sense of devotion in them. Charisma can wield great influence on others.

There are certain key factors that make someone charismatic:

  • Positivity
  • Radiance
  • Confidence
  • Sincerity
  • A warm and friendly voice
  • Approachability
  • Affability
  • Having the ability to inspire others
  • Able to engage and communicate with others with ease
  • Being comfortable in one’s own skin

There are examples of what can make someone charismatic.

Charisma includes your X-factor, your charm, your personal magnetism.

It is that certain elusive, intangible quality that draws people towards you.

Indeed there are some people who are naturally charismatic and charming, and yet charisma can be learned. Think about some of the world’s most popular and charismatic leaders of modern times. They have the mysterious X-factor that draws people in.

Charismatic leaders wield a great influence over others around them. They can get things done and inspire change.

Leaders can be in all walks of life: politics, social justice, racial equality, women’s rights, religion, science, arts, sport, business, economics etc.

A charismatic person will have excellent communication skills and will be able to appeal to people on a much deeper level.

A charismatic business person will be able to identify what people seek and be able to offer solutions that appeal to them and be presented in a more appealing way leading to increased sales.

The charismatic X-factor is a quality that can set you apart from your competition and that goes beyond price, qualifications and experience.

Here are some tips to create more charisma and develop your x-factor:

  1. Make your body language open and friendly
  2. Create eye contact, use a firm handshake and smile warmly
  3. Make people feel good about themselves
  4. Develop your confidence – stand tall
  5. Be positive and optimistic
  6. Show empathy and understanding
  7. Be engaging
  8. Listen attentively

When you develop charisma at a much deeper level, it stems from being really comfortable and at ease with yourself and being happy in your own skin and who you truly are.

That contentment in yourself will be transmitted across to others in an instant. When people feel comfortable in your presence, you will be able to naturally put people at ease which creates a sense of trust and liking, and people are much more likely to want to do business with you and create a relationship as a result.

Charisma and first impressions really do matter. You don’t get a second chance to make a positive first impression. It can take as little as anything from 3 seconds to 3 minutes for the other person to have made a snap unconscious judgement about you. Once that impression is created it can be hard to shift.

Charisma captivates.

Credibility creates relationships.

Both are essential for creating and forging client relationships.
